Assessment Phase · Questions
From answers.
To marks you can read.
Assessment Phase separates automatic marks from teacher marks. A written answer awaiting a mark stays visible as pending.
Which answers are scored automatically?
Multiple-choice and number answers are scored as students answer. These marks are kept in the automatic ledger.
How do I mark written answers?
Choose a rubric level when the question has one, or enter the allowed points yourself, including zero and up to two decimal places. Add a note and save; earlier marks remain in history. Comment bank keeps reusable comments, and Blind marking hides names while you mark.
What happens to work I have not marked yet?
A question awaiting a mark is shown as pending, never as zero. That keeps unfinished marking visible in the results.
Why are there two ledgers?
Automatic marks and teacher marks are recorded separately. You can read the machine-scored answers and the written-answer marks as distinct parts of the result.
What if a paper question could not be digitised?
Its points are recorded as omitted. Results show the paper total, digitised total and the gap between them.
What is in the results file?
Export results CSV gives the detailed exam sheet, with a row per student and a column per question. Question analysis gives a CSV row per question, and Gradebook puts the class’s exams beside one another.
Class report prints the summary and questions; Student report prints one student’s points, written work and notes.
Which names appear in the results?
The results sheet uses the names from your class roster.
Choosing names for your rosterCan I read the time and departure record?
Results include the time each student used and the number of recorded departures. Departures also show total time and longest duration as observations for the teacher.
What can I learn from the class and topic views?
Class summary and Questions show participation, the spread of results, common wrong answers and marking waiting. Topics groups answers by the paper’s tags. Students to check on lists exam facts to review, with cut-offs you choose for this browser. Topic levels — met, approaching and not yet — describe the answers on this exam, with boundaries you choose in Topic level lines.
Can I compare exams over time?
Students opens a student’s work across the class’s exams. Over time lets you read each exam separately or compare shared topics and the same students across selected exams.
Can I correct an answer key after the exam?
Preview a correction in Correct the key, then apply it. Original scoring and correction history remain visible, and Return to the sealed key restores that key. The sealed exam stays unchanged.
Can I adjust points with a reason?
Use Adjust points to add or take away points for one student or the class, with a reason and a preview. You can use up to two decimal places. Adjustments have their own history and can be undone while recorded answers and marks stay as they were.
